2018 Louis Jadot Beaune Grèves 1er Cru 'Le Clos Blanc' Domaine Gagey
An unusual exotic taste. Full, rich and spicy with broad fruit shades and exceptional depth. In addition, notes of almonds, minerality and toast.
Ideal accompaniment to gastronomic preparations of cod, turbot and catfish with creamy sauces. Under the right conditions, the wine can be stored for at least 7 years.
The grapes are harvested by hand and then fermented in wooden barrels. The wine then matures for 14 to 18 months, also in oak barrels
Maison Louis Jadot was founded in 1859 by Louis Henry Denis Jadot. Originally it was mainly a trading house, but today it owns more than 225 hectares of its own vineyards. The total range includes wines from Chablis, Côte d'Or, Côte Chalonnaise, Mâconnais and Beaujolais, in the latter case mostly made at their own Château des Jacques. The starting point for all wines is that every vineyard has its own characteristics and that the terroir is therefore leading. For that reason, nature is allowed to take its course as much as possible and winemaker Frédéric Barnier strives to intervene as little as possible during the vinification process. As a result, there is no such thing as a 'Jadot style', but each Louis Jadot wine has its own character.
