Chateau Lynch - Bages Pauillac 2017 Bordeaux
Powerful, almost explosive wine with a dark purple color and aromas of ripe black fruit, spices and a touch of wood. The taste is full and concentrated with refined tannins and a long finish.
Château Lynch-Bages is a wine estate in Bordeaux and a fifth cru in the Bordeaux wine classification system of 1855. The château dominates the Bages plateau, just south of the village of Pauillac. The Lynch family originally hails from Galway in Ireland. After the Battle of the Boyne in 1690, John Lynch emigrated to Bordeaux. In 1824 Lynch-Bages was sold and the estate passed through several hands until it was bought in 1939 by the Cazes family, who had worked the dilapidated estates since 1934
Top wine with dishes with red meat. Leg of lamb from the oven with rosemary and thyme is a classic combination.
