Taylor's Historical Collection III Limited Edition Reserve

In previous years, Taylor's has already released a Historical Collection Limited Edition Reserve Tawny Port twice. This series is about very special tawny ports,
composed of a selection of the extensive stock of wood-aged ports stored in the lodges of Vila Nova da Gaia.

Winemaker David Guimaraens blends these ports in such a way that each time a unique, rich tawny emerges. Normally a tawny port matures for seven years. However, the blend for this Reserve Tawny also contains ports with a wood aging between ten and forty years. As a result, the quality is superior to a normal tawny port and the taste is deeper and more complex.
To celebrate its long history of pioneering, passion and heritage, Taylor's is now releasing the third edition in this line of unique tawny ports: the Historical Collection Limited Edition Reserve Tawny Port III. This port has also been bottled in a beautiful bottle, the shape of which is again based on a unique historical bottle shape from the 18th century, the so-called mallet. The literal translation of this word is 'wooden (percussion) hammer' and that is what the bottle looks like. The mallet is the successor to the early 18th century spherical bottle.
