Yarden 2T 2017
This attractive blend of typical Portuguese grape varieties is powerful and spicy. Aged for 18 months in French oak barrels. Recognizable are notes of cherries, plums and flowers, framed by a touch of chocolate and French oak. Surprising and of beautiful quality.
Grapes: Touriga Nacional, Tinto Cao
Delicious with: Grilled steak, stewed beef with garlic, thin pizza with mushrooms, firm ripe cheese (including Gruyère).
The most famous wine guide on Israeli wines, Rogov, gives Golan Heights Winery 5 stars and writes: "From the moment they produced their first wines in 1984, there is no doubt that Golan Heights Winery has placed the region on the world wine list. They are the leader in quality. The chief winemaker, Victor Schoenfeld, knows what he is doing. He was trained in California, France and Australia and combines old and new world style".
The Yarden wines are the figurehead of the winery. Here the most beautiful grapes from the best vineyards come together. The name refers to the Jordan River (Yarden in Hebrew).
