Description
The Château des Jacques Fleurie is a sophisticated Cru Beaujolais from the prestigious Fleurie appellation. The wine originates from three carefully selected parcels – Bel Air, Grille-Midi, and Cercillon – located at an altitude of over 300 meters on pink granite soils. These special terroirs give the wine its elegant character, refined minerality, and intense fruit expression. Fleurie is known as the most floral cru of Beaujolais, and Château des Jacques belongs to the absolute top of the region.
Ripe cherries, raspberries, violets, and soft spices
The wine has a deep ruby red color and an expressive aroma of ripe cherries, raspberries, and other red fruits, complemented by floral notes of violets and a subtle spiciness. On the palate, it is silky smooth and harmonious, with juicy red fruit, refined tannins, and an elegant, long finish. The combination of fruit, freshness, and finesse makes this Fleurie particularly enticing.
Traditional vinification with long maceration
The 100% Gamay grapes are hand-harvested, carefully selected, and largely destemmed. The wine then undergoes a slow maceration of three to four weeks, with regular pigeage and remontage to optimally extract color, aromas, and structure. After that, the wine ages for about ten months in concrete tanks and French oak barrels, which provides extra depth without overpowering the fruit.
Perfect with poultry, veal, and aged cheeses
This Fleurie is an excellent accompaniment to poultry, veal, pork tenderloin, grilled mushrooms, and refined meat dishes. Its elegant character also shines beautifully with charcuterie, pâté, and aged cheeses. Thanks to its fresh style, it can also be served deliciously chilled.
Château des Jacques
Château des Jacques is one of the most renowned producers in Beaujolais and has been owned by Maison Louis Jadot since 1996. The winery operates according to Burgundian principles, with low yields, manual harvesting, and a strong focus on terroir. This results in Cru Beaujolais wines with great depth, elegance, and excellent aging potential.
Why choose Château des Jacques Fleurie?
This wine is an excellent choice for lovers of elegant, refined red wines. The combination of ripe cherries, raspberries, violets, and soft tannins makes it approachable in its youth, while it develops further with a few years of bottle aging. A classic Cru Beaujolais with the finesse of Burgundy.
