Provence: The story of Domaine des Diables, better known as MiP

Posted by Andreas Vergunst on

Nestled at the foot of the majestic Sainte Victoire mountain in the Provençal commune of Puyloubier, Domaine des Diables is a testament to passion, tradition and sustainable winemaking. Owned by the dynamic duo Guillaume and Virginie Philip, renowned for their creation of the coveted MiP rosé, this 30-hectare estate embodies the essence of Provençal winemaking heritage.

In 2007, Guillaume and Virginie began their wine journey and created their first wine, the MiP rosé, which is now very popular. Their vineyards, blessed with a diverse terroir of clay, limestone, sand and stones, create the perfect environment for growing flavorful and aromatic rosé wines. Syrah, Grenache, Cinsault and Rolle (Vermentino) thrive on these soils and each plot is vinified separately to optimize the expression of the terroir in every bottle.

Domaine des Diables operates according to a sustainable ethos, with the vineyards benefiting from the influence of twelve different winds, including the famous Mistral. These winds, combined with the warm, dry climate, minimise the occurrence of fungal diseases, making the need for pesticides almost non-existent. This environmentally friendly approach not only preserves the natural balance of the vineyards, but also enhances the quality of the wines, resulting in fruit-rich, elegantly spicy, floral and above all impeccably pure wines.

The winery's esteemed offerings include the MiP Classic and MiP Collection rosés , as well as the Domaine des Diables Sainte Victoire L'Hydropathe Elite Rosé . Each wine reflects Guillaume and Virginie's meticulous craftsmanship and unwavering dedication to their craft.

The MiP Classic rosé , with its delicate hue and refreshing flavour, transports drinkers to the sun-drenched landscapes of Provence, while the MiP Collection rosé showcases the couple’s innovative spirit, with complexity and depth in every sip. The Domaine des Diables Sainte Victoire L’Hydropathe Elite Rosé is testament to the estate’s pursuit of excellence, offering a harmonious blend of terroir and tradition.

When you uncork a bottle of Domaine des Diables rosé, you’re not just tasting a wine – you’re experiencing the essence of Provence, captured in liquid form. It’s a journey through sun-drenched vineyards, windswept hillsides and a legacy of passion and dedication that blossoms with every harvest. To Guillaume and Virginie, to their dedication to quality and to the timeless allure of Domaine des Diables. Cheers! See our rosé collection here .
