Gustave Lorentz
Gustave Lorentz is a renowned winery located in the picturesque village of Bergheim, in the heart of Alsace. The family history in winemaking goes back to 1748, when Jean-Georges Lorentz settled in Bergheim as a blacksmith and winegrower. Since its foundation in 1836, the family business has developed through seven generations, with the motto: "One family, one village and seven generations of winegrowers". The winery owns 33 hectares of vineyards, of which 12.77 hectares are located in the prestigious Grand Cru Altenberg de Bergheim. Since 2012, all of these vineyards have been farmed organically, with respect for the soil and the environment. This sustainable approach ensures wines that optimally reflect the unique terroir and the characteristics of the grape varieties. The team at Maison Lorentz consists of 35 passionate professionals who are committed to producing quality wines that reflect the terroir, the grape variety and the vintage. The vineyard manager and his team ensure the health of the vineyards, while the experienced winemaker, with more than 30 vintages at the estate, is responsible for the vinification process.
